Propagation For The Cut Flower Garden: Dahlias
£65.00
Dahlias have become a mainstay of late summer and autumn displays and we can all see why: this genus offers a spectacular array of blooms, in magnificent colours and shapes. Over this session, we will discuss the different dahlia categories and their use in a cut flower patch. We will show you how to prepare tubers for propagation and how to take cuttings from new shoots. Pre-sprouted tubers will be available for you to practice taking your own cuttings for you to take home. You will be shown how to care for and pot up rooted cuttings and we’ll provide tips on growing on your new plants ready for planting out.
Friday, 12 April 2024
The morning will run from 10am – 1pm. Refreshments will be available.
This meeting forms part of our wider range of courses, Propagation For The Cut Flower Garden. Over this series, we will introduce you to propagation over a flower farmer’s year. Sessions can be bought individually or you can attend the complete range over the growing season. The other sessions within this course are: Seed Sowing, Taking Cuttings and Collecting and Storing Seed. If you would like to attend the whole course, please add your four chosen sessions to your basket and then enter the coupon code PROPAGATION24 to receive a 10% discount on your booking.
