Propagation for the Cut Flower Garden: Seed Sowing

£65.00

Sowing seeds is exciting, rewarding and often challenging! During this session, we will introduce you to the science of seed germination. We will demonstrate the process of sowing seeds and discuss practical matters, such as equipment and composts. It will then be time for you to get your hands dirty! You will have the opportunity to sow seeds and prick out seedlings, which you can then take with you to nurture at home.

This session runs over three dates. Much of the information will be repeated at each meeting but there will be a focus on the particular categories of plant as indicated.

Friday, 15 March 2024: Hardy Annuals

Friday, 29 March 2024: Half Hardy Annuals

Friday, 7 June 2024: Biennials and Perennials

The morning will run from 10am – 1pm. Refreshments will be available.

These sessions form part of our wider range of courses, Propagation For The Cut Flower Garden. Over this series, we will introduce you to propagation over a flower farmer’s year. Sessions can be bought individually or you can attend the complete range over the growing season. The other sessions within this course are: Dahlias, Taking Cuttings and Collecting and Storing Seed. If you would like to attend the whole course, we’d recommend booking one seed sowing session and one of each of the other sessions. To receive a 10% discount on your booking, please add your four chosen sessions to your basket and then enter the coupon code PROPAGATION24.
